BEYOND THE FEATURE LIST

Vizard in practice: our assessment

Vizard combines clip suggestions with editing

Vizard’s documented free tier combines automatic short-clip generation with editor access. This makes it relevant to creators who want suggested moments but expect to adjust a selection before publishing.

Our assessment: editing access is useful only when it helps turn a suggestion into a coherent standalone video. A generated excerpt may need a different opening, more context or a cleaner ending. Review the meaning before fine-tuning its appearance. The number of suggestions produced from an interview is not a reliable measure of how much publishable work the tool has completed.

Three separate limits: input, output and project lifetime

Vizard’s free plan distinguishes uploaded-video duration from exported-video duration. Its table lists a 60-minute upload ceiling and a ten-minute export ceiling, alongside a monthly credit allowance. Free projects also expire after three days.

These restrictions answer different planning questions. The input limit concerns which recording can enter the workflow; the export limit concerns what can leave; expiry determines how long the project remains available. Schedule caption correction and approval within that lifecycle. A client who takes a week to review a clip creates a different workflow requirement from a creator publishing immediately.

A TXT transcript does not complete a subtitle-file job

The pricing table assigns TXT transcript downloads to Free and TXT/SRT to paid tiers. The documented free video output is also watermarked and limited to 720p. Those restrictions are relevant even if the suggested clips are otherwise useful.

For a delivery brief containing a short MP4 and a separate SRT, evaluate both outputs before selecting a plan. Do not assume that captions visible in an editing project establish downloadable timed text. Our finder treats the scoped free offering accordingly: an automatic clipping option can still fail a particular subtitle-file or clean-video requirement.

WHO IT SUITS

Who should consider Vizard?

A useful evaluation case

Evaluate the same owned interview in two clipping tools. Compare whether the chosen excerpts preserve the speaker’s meaning and how much manual correction each one needs. Generated clip count alone is not a quality metric.

FROM SOURCE TO DELIVERABLE

A practical workflow

Our recommended sequence for evaluating this use case; not a report of hands-on testing.

  1. Define a publishable excerpt

Use an authorised interview and identify the audience for each proposed clip. Look for a complete idea rather than an isolated provocative sentence.

  2. Refine and review

Adjust useful suggestions in the documented editor workflow. Check the original context, speaker framing and whether captions conceal important details.

  3. Export before expiry

Save the required outputs within the free project window. Check the actual resolution, branding and file type against the delivery brief.
